The radiographic Study of the Normal Stomachs in Korean Adults


Abstract
One hundred and eighty-five cases of the normal stomachs in Korean adults were studied radiologically, in shape, size and position in relation to the body weight groups.
Various measurements were done in frontal view of the stomach according to Meschan¢¥s method.
1. The J-shape stomach was most frequently observed in all the groups studied (48.1%).
2., The Steer-horn stomach was most` frequently seen in the over weight -group (14.5 % ).
3. The Fish-hook stomach was most frequently observed in the under weight group (65.3%).
4. The J-shape stomach was observed more frequently in male (54.5%), while the¢¥ Fish-hook stomach was seen more in female (58.4%). In female, there was an increasing tendency of the Fish-hook stomach in the-older age group.
5. The values of the measurements were, on the whole, lower than those of Europeans and Americans.
